Mission
To save lives in humanitarian crises and natural disasters by facilitating timely, trusted, and secure information flow for response teams.
Blockages to information flow keep response efforts from being able to identify, access, aid, extract, process, and rehabilitate people whose shelter, safety, resources, and health have been devastated. Moreover, these blockages fuel inefficiencies, missed opportunities, and corruption.
We facilitate the flow of accurate, secure, actionable information such that trusted grassroots organizations, NGOs, private entities, nation states, global humanitarian volunteers can swiftly and collaboratively respond to crises and disasters to mitigate unnecessary losses and to save lives.
PORTAL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
The Problem
Imagine realizing that you are at risk, but not knowing what source of information to trust, not knowing whom to trust to send out an SOS, and not knowing that when you do request aid, rescue, or other resources whether the party you are communicating with is actually equipped to expediently respond to your needs.
Imagine being in a position to help people at risk or at need, but not being able to access accurate, current, and reliable information on who needs what kind of help and where. Imagine having lots of resources to deploy but not being able to collaborate effectively across the other “helpers,” costing money, time, and lives.
